Service Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Service Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- They have to ensure that any parts that need replacing are available in stock;
- They have to inspect all the machines and make reports for the management that whether or not new machines are required;
- They also have to conduct safety checks on all the machines or it could prove to be dangerous for the workers working on them;
- Communicate red line changes to Engineer or Team Leader for revision prior to completion;
- Communicates effectively with all team members, leads, builders, engineers and the Project Manager;
- Point to point wiring of relays, controls, PLCs, I/O Modules, VFDs, Interfaces, & Instrumentation;
- Mounting of components to back panels and enclosures;
- Service engineers have to repair and service all the machinery and equipment present in a company’s manufacturing unit;
- They have to make detailed reports on all the work that is done on each machine;
- Maintain red line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabrication;
- They have to work in teams and delegate work amongst them so the work can be conducted in a fast pace;
- They have to plan the servicing work in advance so the output of the factory is not affected by the service work;
- They have to keep an inventory of equipment required for the repair work;
- Performs other duties assigned as needed;
- The ability to meet deadlines under pressure A high standard of quality and attention to detail.
Requirements:
- Ability to understand and work from schematics;
- Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology required;
- Graduate or equivalent;
- Ensuring activities are planned and managed proactively, in line with roadmap, sprint or requirements and to finish projects as per schedule;
- Ability to communicate effectively, (written and verbally) with peers, management;
- Must be willing to work some overtime if the business need arises;
- Technical school attendance a plus.
