Our company is looking for a Manager- Conferences and Events to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Arrange and carry out Hotel show rounds;
- Develop and expand current existing accounts, focusing on achieving repeat business and upselling opportunities;
- To conduct Show rounds for companies & agents in line with the Company policy;
- Build strong relationships with customers to fully understand their needs;
- Develop future and repeat business, contributing to the profitability of the Hotel;
- Maximize rooms, groups, conference and events revenue through pro-active selling and commercial management techniques;
- To ensure all information is relayed to the Chef and Operations Team in a timely manner to ensure they can order and roster effectively;
- Maximise all Meeting & Events Sales revenue opportunities through up selling of function items;
- Focus on a consistently executed up-selling approach;
- To meet & greet nominated conference contact or organizer to check on their satisfaction and the set up of the meeting rooms on the day of the event;
- To support in other properties within the Cluster as required, according to the business needs;
- To support the Food & Beverage operations and room reservations team with information as required;
- Seek proactive opportunities to increase sales and conversions within the Team;
- Contribute to the strategy and planning activities of the Sales function;
- Participate in hotel promotional activities.
Requirements:
- Good administration skills;

- Confident telephone manner;
- Able to develop positive working relationships at all levels;
- Previous experience in a Sales environment – either proactive or reactive;
- High level of IT skills;
- Able to ‘close’ a sale;
- Company/competitor awareness;
- Previous experience working in an Event Planning Environment;
- Excellent grooming standards;
- Good understanding of C&E business;
- Positive attitude and good communication skills.
