Network Operations Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Network Operations Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Industry;
- 24×7 on-call support of the data center infrastructure;
- Prioritize tasks and work independently yet interact well within a project-oriented team environment;
- Configure servers and network hardware;
- Media / Entertainment / Internet;
- Troubleshoot problems with hardware, software, network and security administration;
- Monitor site stability and performance;
- Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes;
- Documentation of current and future configuration processes and policies.
Requirements:
- Experience working in an enterprise networking environment;
- Demonstrated skills in network design, implementation and integration in operationally sensitive production environments;
- Experience with wireless local area networks (WLANs);
- Hands on experience in running and maintaining video streaming and download services are a major plus;
- Good understanding of IP security;
- Knowledge of UNIX shell scripting a must;
- Experience in integration with monitoring tools (Nagios) is plus;
- Knowledge of reliability and security requirements is essential;
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience;
- This candidate will participate in defining and scoping our deployment topology and work with clients to deploy our service;
- Experience with network change-management control policies;
- 5+ years of industry experience working in a large scale data networks;
- BE degree in engineering or equivalent;
- Prior experience interfacing with and/or working in data centers is a must;
- Masters or PhD in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
