Sr. Systems Administrator Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Sr. Systems Administrator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Support Dev/Ops environment (Linux and open source tools);
- Manage and maintain Linux servers storage hardware and operating system;
- Participate in root cause analysis to resolve issues quickly in a complex IT environment;
- Support Xdesktop application ETX/EOD opentext tools environment;
- Active team member of engineering services infrastructure (Linux, Storage, EDA/LSF compute);
- Support on projects within the team and cross-functionally;
- Participate in evaluating tools or any other software applications;
- Monitor systems and services globally;
- Support remote sites systems provisioning process;
- Participate in global IT maintenance activities;
- Perform other duties as requested by team manager;
- Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with other IT functions;
- Follow policies and procedures including those for ITIL incident, problem, change, release management and ISO 27001 guidelines;
- Interacts with users and other stakeholders to plan and implement changes and deliver support;
- Working in rotational shifts ( EU US ) CET PST time zones.
Requirements:
- Good working knowledge of NetApp cluster on-tap;
- Strong working knowledge of open source software tools;
- On call support to respond on any weekend emergency issues;
- Effective communication skills (written and presentations);
- Must be able to work well with others;
- Exposure on automation using ansible, or any YAML language;
- Strong working knowledge of system monitoring;
- Working experience in Semiconductor companies is an added advantage;
- ITIL V3 ISO 27001 experience is an added advantage;
- Working experience in rotational shifts is an added advantage;
- Any bachelor’s degree or diploma with relevant certifications is required;
- 3 or more years working with enterprise ontap storage software;
- 5 – 8 years experience in LAN/WAN/Internet services administration;
- Knowledge of the following technologies: Routing, Switching, VPN, LAN, WAN, Network Security, VM, VDI, Intrusion Detection, and Anti Virus;
- Strong understanding of DNS and NFS, SMTP, TCP/IP.
