Role Description The Area Sales Manager Cosmetics General Trade is a full-time, on-site role based in Hubli. This role is responsible for managing and growing general trade sales for the companys cosmetic and hair care product portfolio in the assigned territory. Day-to-day activities include planning and executing sales strategies, managing distributor and retailer relationships, and ensuring product visibility and availability across outlets. The role involves monitoring sales performance, conducting market visits, implementing promotional activities, and collecting market intelligence on competitors and consumer trends. The Area Sales Manager will also prepare sales reports, coordinate with internal teams for supply and marketing support, and lead field teams to achieve volume, value, and distribution targets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in FMCG or cosmetics general trade sales, preferably as an Area Sales Manager or similar field sales role.
• Strong skills in territory management, distributor handling, and retailer relationship-building.
• Ability to plan and execute sales strategies, promotional activities, and market development initiatives.
• Competence in sales forecasting, target achievement, and performance tracking using basic MS Excel and reporting tools.
• Good communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to influence trade partners.
• Comfort with on-the-ground fieldwork, regular market visits, and travel within the assigned territory.
• Understanding of cosmetics or hair care product categories and consumer buying behavior in general trade.
• Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a sales team.
• Proficiency in English and local languages relevant to the Hubli region; familiarity with regional market dynamics is beneficial.
• Salary : 50-60k/month
