civil project manager Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a civil project manager to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations;
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues;
- Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies;
- Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements;
- Hire contractors & other staff and allocate responsibilities;
- Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities;
- Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics, etc. and guide them when needed;
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, etc. to determine the specifications projects;
- Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports;
- Plan all construction operations & schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines are met.
Requirements:
- MBA is an added advantage (not mandatory);
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage;
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles;
- Familiarity with quality, health and safety standards;
- A team player with leadership abilities;
- BE / ME in engineering, building science or relevant field;
- Ability to manage Workforce;
- Familiarity with construction/ project management software;
- Outstanding communication and negotiation skills;
- Proven experience as a construction project manager / Engineer.
