Bounteous - AI Tech Lead

This is the most critical technical hire on the engagement and is intended for a builder, not a coordinator. As the Tech Lead, you will be responsible for establishing the complete AI engineering foundation from day oneincluding environment setup, OpenAI and Google AI integrations, agent architecture, observability, monitoring, and DevOps processes.You will be expected to operate independently, making key architecture and implementation decisions while partnering directly with client stakeholders. While senior AI leaders will be available for guidance, success in this role requires the ability to lead from the front, write production-grade code, solve complex technical challenges, and accelerate team delivery.This is a hands-on leadership position where you will remain actively involved in designing, building, deploying, and supporting AI solutions throughout the entire engagement lifecyclenot just during the initial setup phase.Foundation & Architecture:- Design and build the base framework from day one: environment setup, OpenAI and Google integration patterns, agent scaffolding, observability and monitoring infrastructure, and DevOps orchestration.- Make architecture and build decisions across the OpenAI and Google AI stack.- Own production health of deployed agents, including versioning, observability standards, and failure-handling protocols.Client Delivery & Stakeholder Management:- Serve as the single point of contact to Alteryx's AI Product Owner and Forward Deployed Engineer.- Translate Alteryx's requirements into sprint-level execution encompassing sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and stakeholder alignment.- Lead all client-facing delivery reviews with Jason Lovinger and the RevOps team.Hands-On Technical Contribution:- Write code, build AI agents, and unblock the team technically on a continuous basis.- Remain an active contributor beyond the foundation phase, supporting the team through the full engagement.- 12+ years of experience in enterprise technology delivery, with recent years focused on applied AI engineering.- Demonstrated ability to build AI engineering foundations from scratch including environment setup, integration patterns, observability, and DevOps without relying on a pre-existing setup.- Deep, hands-on expertise with OpenAI APIs: GPT-4, Assistants API, function calling, and embeddings.- Proven experience with Google AI platforms: Vertex AI or Gemini.- Track record of leading delivery teams while remaining technically active and contributing directly to the build.- Excellent communication skills able to translate technical depth into clear business terms for client stakeholders.- Revenue Operations (RevOps) or CRM domain knowledge a strong differentiator for this role.- Hands-on familiarity with Salesforce, Outreach, and/or Marketo; this substantially reduces ramp-up time on the engagement.
