Senior Automation Test Engineer - Java/Selenium

Description :Job Title : Senior Automation Test EngineerExperience : 7 to 10 YearsNotice Period : Immediate to 15 Days PreferredJob Summary :We are looking for a Senior Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in backend-focused test automation, API testing, and message-based systems.The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Java automation frameworks, Selenium, Rest Assured, SQL, and CI/CD pipelines.The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with enterprise automation frameworks, and the ability to work collaboratively in Agile environments.Key Responsibilities :- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Java, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, and Cucumber (BDD)- Perform backend and API automation testing using Rest Assured and Spring Boot- Validate JSON and XML payloads across APIs and messaging systems- Test messaging queues and streaming platforms such as IBM MQ and Kafka- Write and optimize SQL queries for backend data validation across SQL Server, SAP HANA, and related databases- Execute cross-browser and cross-platform testing using Selenium Grid- Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Maven, and Git- Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and stakeholders for requirement analysis and quality assurance- Log, track, and manage defects using JIRA- Support environment setup, test planning, and continuous quality improvement initiatives- Ensure high-quality deliverables in fast-paced Agile environmentsRequired Skills & Experience :- 7+ years of QA Automation experienceStrong expertise in :- Automation Testing (80%)- Functional Testing (20%)- Java Programming- Selenium WebDriver- API Testing- Rest Assured- SQL- Jenkins CI/CD Pipelines- Git / Bitbucket- Hands-on experience with TestNG, Cucumber (BDD), JUnit, and Spring Framework- Experience working with IBM MQ, Kafka, or similar messaging technologies- Strong backend/database validation experience- Experience with Postman and SOAP UI- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies- Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skillsPreferred Candidate Profile :- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes preferred- Exposure to Azure or AWS cloud platforms preferred- Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare will be an added advantage- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills- Ability to work independently and in distributed Agile teamsSoft Skills :- Excellent verbal and written communication- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking- Self-motivated and detail-oriented- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively (ref:hirist.tech)
