Platform Engineer (DevSecOps / AWS / MySQL)@ PEOPLE10 

JOB LOCATION : Bangalore, India (Remote)

EXPERIENCE : 5–6 Years 

SHIFT : 4PM -12AM IST

Role Summary : 

We are looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to serve as a technical owner on a client platform, contributing across the full software lifecycle from design and development to production support. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in Rails and PostgreSQL, strong experience integrating third-party APIs under real-world constraints (rate limits, quotas, uptime SLAs), and the ability to design resilient, production-grade systems. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating with significant autonomy, communicating clearly with both technical and business stakeholders, and maintaining high engineering discipline over a sustained engagement.  

A key focus of this role is building and managing GitHub-based development workflows

and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Support & Operational Ownership

• Provide hands-on support for production and non-production platforms

• Troubleshoot incidents across application, infrastructure, and database layers

• Own operational issues through to resolution, recovery, and follow-up

• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes and preventive

improvements

• Continuously improve platform reliability, support processes, and operational

Readiness

2. GitHub & CI/CD (Core Focus)

• Design, build, and maintain GitHub repositories, branching strategies, and

workflows

• Develop and manage GitHub Actions pipelines for CI/CD

• Implement automated build, test, security scanning, and deployment pipelines

• Enforce best practices around:

o Code reviews and pull requests

o Branch protection and release management

o Secrets management and secure pipeline design

• Optimize pipelines for speed, reliability, and security

• Integrate DevSecOps controls (SAST, DAST, dependency scanning)

3. Stakeholder Communication

• Communicate clearly with internal teams and stakeholders

• Provide timely updates on incidents, issues, and remediation progress

• Participate in incident calls, support discussions, and operational reviews

• Document issues, resolutions, and recurring support patterns clearly

4. Platform Engineering & Operations

• Support and maintain production and non-production environments

• Troubleshoot across application, infrastructure, and database layers

• Lead root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes

5. AWS Cloud Infrastructure

• Support and maintain AWS environments (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS)

• Manage infrastructure changes using Terraform or CloudFormation

• Monitor security, availability, and cost efficiency

6. MySQL Database Administration

• Manage MySQL (replication, backups, recovery, tuning)

• Troubleshoot and optimize database performanc e

7. Linux Systems Management

• Manage and secure Linux environments

• Automate system tasks using scripting

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years in DevOps / Platform Engineering / SRE

• Strong hands-on GitHub experience including:

o GitHub Actions (required)

o Branching strategies and repository management

o Pull request workflows and code governance

• Proven experience building CI/CD pipelines end-to-end

• Strong expertise in:

o AWS cloud infrastructure

o Linux administration

o MySQL database management

• Experience implementing DevSecOps practices

• Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)

• Experience working with cross-functional teams in support or operational

environments

Qualifications

• Docker / Kubernetes

• HashiCorp Vault or secrets management tools

• Experience in fintech or regulated environments

• Experience supporting complex cloud-based platforms in production environments
