iOS/MacOS Networking Engineer - VPN Technologies & Apples Network Extension Framework

Description : We are looking for a highly skilled iOS/macOS Networking Engineer with strong expertise in VPN technologies and Apples NetworkExtension framework. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building custom VPN solutions, packet tunnel providers, and transparent proxies, with a deep understanding of networking protocols, security, and performance optimization.You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and deliver secure, high-performance networking features used across applications.Key Responsibilities : - Design and implement custom VPN solutions using the Network Extension framework on iOS and macOS.- Develop and maintain Packet Tunnel Providers for secure traffic tunneling.- Implement Transparent Proxy solutions using NETransparentProxyProvider for traffic inspection, redirection, and policy enforcement.- Work extensively with IP routing, packet parsing, and tunneling mechanisms.- Ensure secure, reliable, and efficient handling of network traffic across applications.- Debug, profile, and optimize system-level and networking code.- Collaborate with product, security, and platform teams to deliver robust networking capabilities.Technical Requirements : Programming Languages : - Objective-C Proficient- Swift Proficient- C++ Working knowledge (for performance-critical components and integrations)Network Extension Expertise : - Strong hands-on experience with Apple NetworkExtension framework (iOS/macOS)Proven experience with : - Packet Tunnel Provider - NETransparentProxyProvider- Solid understanding of routing, IP packet parsing, and traffic tunnelingNetworking & Security : Strong knowledge of networking protocols : - TCP, UDP, TLS, DNS, VPN-related protocols and conceptsSecurity expertise : - TLS handshake - Certificate pinning - Network security best practicesTools & Debugging : Hands-on experience with : - Wireshark - tcpdump Memory debugging and leak detection using : - Instruments - Xcode Memory GraphStrong understanding of multithreading : - GCD - NSOperation - Thread safety and deadlock prevention- Proven ability in performance profiling and optimization (low-level and high-level code)Nice to Have : - Experience with SwiftUI, AutoLayout, and Swift ConcurrencyFamiliarity with CI/CD tools : - Jenkins - Fastlane - TestFlight (ref:hirist.tech)
