Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare analyze and present financial statements including monthly quarterly and annual reports often involving variance analysis.
Account Management:
Manage and reconcile accounts payable and receivable general ledger accounts and fixed asset schedules.
Compliance:
Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal policies and support internal and external audits.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Participate in the budgeting and forecasting processes monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
Internal Controls:
Develop document and implement business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Process Improvement:
Identify inefficiencies suggest improvements to accounting systems and procedures and develop documentation for new policies.
Staff Supervision:
Oversee and mentor junior accounting staff plan their work and review their tasks.
Audits & Taxes:
Assist with tax returns coordinate with external auditors and support internal audit processes.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
A bachelors degree in accounting or a related field is typically required; many positions prefer a masters degree or CPA certification.
Experience:
