Do what you love, care for the world, dare to challenge the status quo! #Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of all machinery, equipment and engineering facilities of Novotel Chennai Sipcot and also ensure that there is no breakdown of the engineering systems.

At regular intervals, inspect the working condition of equipment and engineering systems and ensure that all standards are maintained.

Monitor and record utility consumption and assist the Director of Engineering to maintain efficiency.

Assist the Director of Engineering to direct and coordinate the overall activities of the Engineering Department.

Conform and adhere to the policies & procedures and rules & regulations as laid down by Novotel Chennai Sipcot in order to achieve the highest levels of guest service.

Engineering Planning

Assist the Director of Engineering to identify the major facilities and equipment requirements for the department and the property.

Establish and maintain seamless co-ordination & co-operation with all departments of Novotel Chennai Sipcot to ensure maximum cooperation, productivity, morale and guest service.

Financial Management

~ Inspect regularly to assess the state of the buildings and of the installations. This applies to the inspections of : all stonework, brickwork, paint works, coating, facing, covering, flooring, plumbing and carpentry, and questions concerning the heating, air conditioning, hot water tank as well as electrical problems relevant to high and low current (telephone, television, neon signs, kitchen equipment, vacuum cleaners, etc.), questions concerning refrigeration (refrigerating unit) and the functioning of elevators.

To supervise the operations of Air-conditioning plant, boilers, pumps etc.

Ensure that all complaints are recorded and attended to promptly ensuring guest satisfaction.

Check and ensure proper handling, operation and maintenance of all the equipment.

Ensure that desired level of water is maintained in water storage tanks.

Check and ensure the working condition of fire detectors, fire fighting systems, transformers, electrical systems, etc.

Check and ensure that proper safety measures have been adhered to and also ensure maintenance of all fire fighting equipment.

Managerial Qualities

Leadership skills that utilize persuasion and motivation to attain organizational goals is the most desirable management quality, followed by honesty, integrity, ethical behaviour, tactfulness, openness, and cultural awareness;

Ability to enhance organizational performance;

Hygiene / Personal safety / Environment:

• Ensures that the workplace and storage areas remain clean and tidy
• Applies the hotel's security regulations (in case of fire etc)
• Respects the hotel's commitments to the "Environment Charter" (saving energy, recycling, sorting waste etc).
