Structures and Analysis Engineer

NewSpace Research and Technologies

NewSpace Research & Technologies (NRT) is a leading developer of cyber-physical and robotics systems for the aerospace and defence industry. Founded in 2017, NRT today operates across 12 facilities with an employee base of over 500 people. An engineering powerhouse with 70% of its workforce dedicated to R&D in state-of-the-art facilities, NRT is building cutting-edge technologies for persistent UAVs, swarm robotics and AI packages.

NRT is ISO 9001, AS9100D and Great Place to Work certified, authorized for defence manufacturing by DPIIT, and holds 2 patents along with over 10 proprietary technology stacks. Additionally, NRT's products hold several records, including the first operational swarm acquired by any national defence force, highest multirotor altitude at 7000m, highest payload of 25 kgs carried at 6 km AMSL, and the Asian record for the longest solar-powered flight at 27 hours. Design UAV airframes using analytical formulations and engineering principles.
Analyze, validate, and update structural designs using commercial CAE tools.
Collaborate with systems engineers, project managers, and external vendors to execute airframe development activities.
Conduct root cause analysis for structural failures and propose corrective measures.

Strength of materials, aircraft structures, composites, vibrations, structural dynamics, aeroelasticity, rigid body dynamics, fatigue, and damage tolerance.
Conceptual design of fixed-wing UAVs, mass estimation, development of primary and secondary airframe members, and first-order structural analysis.
CAE & FEA: Propose and execute linear, nonlinear, transient, vibration, and fatigue analyses to validate structural behavior.
Design process for composite and metallic structures, including part concepts, quality metrics, drafting (GD&T), manufacturing, structural testing, and iterative design feedback.
Design Planning: Plan design activities and proofs of concept to meet part and mechanism functionalities through multi-stage processes.
Engineering Practices: Engineering change management (PDM), FMEA, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
Tools & Software: MATLAB (advanced), Fortran/Python/C++, SolidWorks, CATIA, ANSYS.
Experience in end-to-end structural design, aero-modelling, and hands-on hardware projects in mechanical systems.

Basic Requirement (education & relevant experience):

• Bachelors or Masters in Aerospace/Aeronautical/Mechanical engineering and minimum 5-8 years of experience.
