Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer

Amazon is expanding the Data Center management team in India. This position serves as the primary operational resource to support ADSIPL within its owned and operated Data Centers in India. This position will provide a central point of ownership and accountability for the overall ‘hands-on’ management of the Mechanical, Electrical (M&E) and across ADSIPL’s portfolio of Data Centers in India. This position will be responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the critical infrastructure supporting IT operations within the Indian Data Center space. It will also include event management, incident management, problem management, change management, and cost/contract management. In addition, this will include the relationship management with the landlords, critical facility vendors, Data Center Construction team, Data Center Operations team, Technical Program Managers, Security team, and Logistics team in India. The position will require 24x7 on-call, scheduled weekend work support and rotational shift. Maintenance Engineer
(Must be proficient in either Electrical or Mechanical maintenance)
Electrical Maintenance:

• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of HV/MV/LV panels, Circuit Breakers, RMUs, Transformers, VFDs, Motors, Battery systems, and UPS systems.
• Execute non-destructive testing including Thermography, Partial Discharge Testing, and Ultrasonic Testing.

Mechanical/HVAC maintenance:

• Maintain and troubleshoot HVAC equipment including DX units, Split AC systems, Ductable AC units, VRF systems, and AHUs.
• Service Chilled Water Systems including Chillers, Pumps, Motorized valves, Dampers, and Chemical dosing systems.
• Maintain Fire Safety Systems. Fire suppression and Fire extinguishing systems.
• . Perform Generator maintenance including A, B, C, and D checks.

Planning & Documentation:

• Prepare and manage 52-week preventive maintenance calendars.
• Execute cluster-level equipment maintenance.
• Proactive corrective maintenance as required.
• Coordinate with asset management team for maintenance scope enhancement/changes.
• Assist in troubleshooting of facility and rack-level events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Provide operational readings and key performance indicators to make sure uptime is maintained.
• Responsible for the on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices, procedures & local legislation.
• Perform and oversee maintenance on all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and conduct regular equipment inspection rounds.
• Respond to alerts and alarms, ensuring quick resolution to maintain facility uptime
• Work closely with operations teams, vendors, and technical program managers for maintenance activities.
• Document all maintenance activities, update logs, and maintain accurate equipment records.
• Participate in team discussions to improve processes and implement innovative solutions while ensuring 24/7 facility reliability.
