The Automotive Practice at Epsilon is a rapidly expanding team that drives significant growth for major players in the automotive industry, from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to dealerships across North America. Role: Lead Software Engineer (Oracle & PL/SQL)
The Lead Software Engineer position requires strong Oracle database knowledge to work on a complex, rule-based, multi-channel marketing campaign platform that supports Fortune 100 companies. This role involves comprehensive responsibilities across the software development lifecycle, focusing on database design, development, and support within a high-performance environment.
Setup/Configuration: Setup and configuration of the development environment.
Analysis & Design: Analysis and design of new and enhanced features for the marketing platform as per business requirements.
Collaboration: Collaborate with developers, project managers, business analysts, and business users in conceptualizing, estimating, and developing new software applications and enhancements.
Project Planning: Assist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, providing time estimates for programming tasks, and implementation plans.
Requirements & Specifications: Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of software's objectives, business requirements, deliverables, and specifications in collaboration with internal users and departments.
Develop technical documentation to define the system components, development environment, and implementation planning/strategies.
Recommend business process flow improvements and clearly communicate problem/resolution processes to project management.
Solution Implementation: Develops and implements solutions in accordance with policies and procedures.
Facilitate the design and implementation process for new products/projects, informing senior executives of alternatives.
Project Documentation: Administer full project documentation efforts in accordance with policy and procedure.
Policy Improvement: Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures associated with development require improvement and assist in the process improvement activity.
Experience: 9-12 years of experience as a developer.
Database Design: Must have 5+ years of experience in Database Design, Data architecture, and Process Control flow .
Oracle & PL/SQL: Excellent skills in Oracle databases and PL/SQL .
Unix & Shell Scripting: Strong in Unix environment and capable of Unix Shell scripting.
Scalability & Performance: Ability to design and implement solutions that are reliable, scalable, and perform at a high-level to meet the service levels associated with mission-critical Oracle-based solutions.
Database Architecture Best Practices: Knowledge of database architecture and best practices for Oracle SQL and PL/SQL coding style and application tuning.
Enterprise Application Development: Experience designing and developing complex enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, etc.) on large Oracle databases using SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall).
Impact & Root Cause Analysis: Excellent in impact-analysis and root cause analysis.
Performance Tuning & Support: Experience in performance tuning, application monitoring, and support of production applications with distributed teams.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and an ability to communicate with internal and external customers and all levels of management, including communicating technical information to non-technical audiences.
System Design: Ability to design and build flexible and extensible systems with a focus on code reuse and generation.
Technical Specifications & Testing: Experience with writing detailed technical specifications for developers; ability to design, validate, and execute software test plans.
Familiar with the Application Development Life Cycle and able to independently participate in each component.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent.
Oracle & Automotive/CRM: Working knowledge of Oracle (PL/SQL and SQL) and experience in automotive marketing and/or CRM applications preferred.
ETL & GIT: Experience with Informatica or some ETL tool, and GIT preferred.
Non-Technical:
Ability to take full ownership of tasks and projects.
