Procurement Manager - REMOTE

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Manage procurement of civil-related items such as small tools, construction consumables, safety items, temporary structures, building materials, site infra works and road maintenance requirements.

Handle service orders for minor civil works, repairs, fabrication, maintenance, and other site-based activities.

Oversee administration-linked procurements including rented vehicles, guest house arrangements, housekeeping, manpower sourcing, catering and site logistics.

Conduct vendor identification, evaluation, negotiation, and onboarding as per approved vendor processes.

Prepare and process PRs, RFQs, techno-commercial comparisons, POs, and Work Orders with complete documentation.

Monitor contractor performance, delivery timelines, and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Coordinate with site construction, planning, stores, finance, and corporate SCM for smooth execution.

Ensure cost control, adherence to budgets, and reduction of procurement lead times.

Maintain inventory visibility, support material reconciliation, and ensure timely GRN/Service Entry.

Address urgent site requirements through quick sourcing while maintaining transparency and audit compliance.

Prepare MIS reports, procurement trackers, and vendor performance evaluations.

Coordination with vendors for deliverables for supply of materials.

Coordination with projects to attend vendor queries and contract obligations.

Prepare pricing strategy and good knowledge of construction materials for rate analysis.

Key Skills Required:

Strong understanding of civil works, site operations, quantity basics and construction materials.

Good negotiation and vendor management skills.

Knowledge of SAP/ERP systems for procurement transactions.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple site demands.

Strong documentation, communication, and coordination abilities.

Preferred Background:

Prior experience in hydropower, tunneling, dam, or large infrastructure project sites.

Exposure to civil and general service procurements at remote project locations.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Full Time)
• 10-12 years in site procurement, contracting, and civil support functions for infrastructure or hydropower projects.
