Electrical Engineer - Remote

The Engineer designs, reviews, and analyzes assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects, by nature of their complexity and difficulty, require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering or science. Through broader and more technically challenging work assignments, and will develop a thorough understanding of policies, methods, and procedures.
Under the supervision of an experienced engineer or engineering manager, performs detailed engineering review of plans as assigned for compliance with applicable Rules, Regulations, and contract commitments. Examples are electrical single line diagrams, automation systems control schematics, software functional description documents and cyber resilience plans.
Proposes technical advice to field operations and other technical offices.
Performs work that involves conventional engineering practices but may include moderately complex problems such as resolving conflicting design requirements, material standards, or coordinating activities among other disciplines.
May work autonomously, once trained, with minimal supervision.
Implements and maintains ABS Quality System requirements relative to responsibilities after undergoing ABS Quality System training.
Education and Experience
S. degree in Electrical or other related disciplines;
Graduate from University and a minimum of three (3) years of related industry experience. Fresh graduates with relevant industrial experience and/or specialization can apply.
Relevant experience working in marine Classification Societies, design / consulting companies, shipbuilding, offshore engineering, or the oil & gas industries, as well as familiarity with Classification Society Rules and international maritime regulations (for e.g. Good command of the English language.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
Able to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.
The work environment will primarily be an air-conditioned office setting requiring the employee to sit for prolonged periods while concentrating on a computer screen.
