IT SQL/Reporting Analyst

Job Summary: The MIS Reporting Analyst pays a role to manage, integrate, and optimize an organization's information systems to support strategic and operational goals. This role ensures data accuracy, enhances information flow, and enables data-driven decision-making across departments. A key focus of this position is to design and maintain interactive Tableau dashboards and reports that provide real-time insights to business users. The Reporting Analyst works closely with cross-functional teams to translate data into visual stories, build efficient systems, and continuously drive innovation and efficiency through technology.

Key Responsibilities:

System Management and Maintenance:
~ Monitor and manage system performance; generate usage reports; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues; oversee system backup and recovery processes.

Data Analysis and Tableau Reporting:
Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets to uncover business insights.
Build, maintain, and publish Tableau dashboards and visualizations for leadership and department heads.
Generate automated and ad-hoc reports tailored to business requirements and KPIs.
Support ongoing data-driven decision-making initiatives across the organization.
Technical Support and Training:
Provide end-user support and resolve information system issues promptly.
Conduct training sessions on system usage and Tableau dashboard interpretation to empower staff with data literacy.
Project Management & Development:
Lead or contribute to MIS-related projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget execution.
Gather requirements from users and help develop scalable system solutions to meet business needs.
Data Security and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with institutional data security standards and privacy regulations.
Maintain proper access control, perform routine backups, and enforce data governance policies.
Process Optimization:
Identify inefficiencies and suggest improvements in data workflows, reporting practices, and system usability.
Enhance data pipelines and reporting automation using SQL and BI tools.

Qualifications:
Education:
~ Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:
Proven experience in an MIS, business intelligence, or IT systems support role.
Hands-on experience with Tableau dashboard development and data visualization is required.

Essential Skills:
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of database systems and SQL (mandatory).
Experience designing Tableau dashboards and data visualizations that translate complex data into actionable insights.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VBA, macros) for supplementary analysis and reporting.
Familiarity with data analysis or automation using Python is a plus.
Understanding of networking, cloud-based systems, or IT infrastructure is beneficial.
