Job Title: Engineering Manager - Data Modernization
CommSec is Australia's largest online retail stockbroker. It is one of the most highly visible and visited online assets in Australian financial services. Engineers within CommSec are offered regular opportunities to work on some of the finest IT systems in Australia, as well as having opportunity to develop careers across different functions and teams within the wider Bank.
To ensure the CommSec achieves a sustainable competitive advantage through data engineering, you will play a key role in supporting and executing the CommSec's data strategy.
We are looking for an experienced Staff Data Engineer to join our Data Modernization Squad, which is part of the wider Technology Platform Crew. Bring your expertise in building scalable frameworks on cloud platform, with focus on automation and innovation.
Possesses hands-on technical experience working in SQL Server Integration Services, AWS. Individual should be have knowledge about AWS services like: Possesses hands-on technical experience in Pyspark.
Well versed in Python scripting.
Passionate about Cloud/DevOps/Automation and possess a keen interest to solve complex problems in a systematic approach.
Showcase leadership qualities enabling progress of the team.
15+ years of industry experience.
- Hands on experience in Python scripting, Python, PySpark, Cloud Foundation (CFN), Cloud Development Kit (CDK) and Software Development Kit (SDK) [ Essential]
- Exposure to EMR, KMS, MSK, Flink, S3 Storage, Parquet File Format, Iceberg [ good to have]
- Cloud experience is essential and exposure to AWS S3, Glue, Redshift, lake formation is needed.
- Experience in CI/CD
- AWS DMS, Event Bridge, Lambda, Step Function are great to have skills.
Bachelor's degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
