Java Architect

Design and deliver a scalable low level solution, allowing the bank to quickly respond to changing circumstances for our customers, growing, and diminishing the environment, as and when required by the circumstances.
Facilitate agility within the environment allowing fast change within the bank and increased efficiency of delivery of new products and services as well as improvements to existing products and services.

Engage with business SMEs and stakeholders effectively to understand and elicit business requirements.
Constructively challenge, where appropriate, requirements that do not adhere to the D&T target architecture or architecture principles.

Role & Responsibilities:

Technology Leadership:
Lead and engage with colleagues and vendors in discussions to secure the best solutions for the bank.
Ensure technology and process gaps are captured and prioritized for action.
Architect low level solutions based on business value and alignment with the broader technology and business environment.
Keep colleagues in the Architecture and Design team, and the Technology Design Authority informed on project and business developments.
Work with Architecture and Design colleagues to ensure alignment of solutions and a cohesive technology environment.
Build relationships with key groups and stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives.
Stay up-to-date with appropriate technology horizons, bringing new technologies and services for discussion as appropriate.
Conduct proof of concept technical implementations across a variety of technologies.
Produce fit for purpose High-Level Designs that can be used by engineers to develop Low-Level Designs and by project managers to produce project plans.
Build a close working relationship with key stakeholders.
Work with external parties as required to deliver on objectives.
Instigate and/or conduct technical investigations as required, delegating responsibilities where necessary.
Contribute towards the target architecture and principles.
Work with business stakeholders to understand short- and medium-term requirements and initiatives, ensuring they re considered in the architecture roadmap or delivery of design strategies.
Communicate architecture principles, policies, and standards to delivery teams and relevant groups within the organization.
Integration Responsibilities:
Design and implement integration solutions to connect various systems and applications within the organization.
Develop integration strategies and ensure they align with business goals and IT architecture.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand integration requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Oversee the integration process, including data mapping, transformation, and workflow automation.
Ensure data integrity and security during the integration process.
Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues to maintain seamless operations.
Document integration processes and provide training to relevant teams.
