Position: Automation Engineer – Machine Manufacturing

Job Summary:

The Automation Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial automation systems and precision machines, especially in the field of laser-based machinery and packing automation. The role requires strong technical expertise in control systems, programming, and machine integration.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Machine Design & Development

Design and develop automation systems for precision and packing machines

Work on control panel design and system architecture

Integrate PLC, HMI, VFD, sensors, and actuators into machine systems

Support mechanical and electrical design teams in machine development

2. Laser Machine Expertise (Mandatory)

Hands-on experience in:

Laser Cutting Machines

Laser Marking Machines

Laser Engraving Machines

Laser Welding Machines

Knowledge of laser machine controllers, optics, and automation interfaces

Ability to troubleshoot laser power sources, motion control systems, and servo drives

3. Programming & Control Systems

PLC programming (Siemens / Mitsubishi / Delta / Allen-Bradley – any one or more)

HMI programming and troubleshooting

Microcontroller programming (Arduino, ESP32, or similar)

VFD programming and motor control integration

Industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP – preferred)

4. Installation, Commissioning & Maintenance

Installation and commissioning of automation systems at factory and customer sites

Preventive and breakdown maintenance of machines

Diagnose electrical, electronic, and automation faults

Provide technical support to production and service teams

5. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare technical reports, wiring diagrams, and test records

Maintain service and maintenance logs

Provide training to operators and junior engineers

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience: 2–5 years as an Automation Engineer in machine manufacturing/design companies

Education: B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering

Strong knowledge of:

PLC & HMI programming

Microcontroller systems

VFD and servo drives

Industrial sensors and actuators

Experience in laser-based machines is highly preferred

Ability to work independently and in a team
