Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to architect and build the robust backend infrastructure that powers our platform. You will design scalable APIs and services for live health consultations, prescription management, e-commerce for herbal products, and AI-driven wellness recommendations. This role offers an opportunity to innovate in healthcare technology and contribute to a product that improves millions of lives.

What You'll Do

· System Architecture & Design: Build secure and scalable backend services for real-time video/audio consultations, wellness tracking, and natural medicine delivery.

· Database Management: Optimize SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis) databases for secure health records, doctor profiles, and product inventory.

· API Development: Develop well-documented RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support mobile and web apps.

· Performance & Scalability: Implement caching strategies, optimize queries, and ensure high uptime for live consultations and transactions.

· Event-Driven Architecture: Use message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ) for asynchronous communication, such as appointment scheduling and order updates.

· Security & Compliance: Ensure data privacy and HIPAA-compliant storage for patient health information.

· AI Integration: Collaborate with data scientists to integrate AI wellness assistants, enabling smart recommendations and symptom triaging.

· Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, Ayurvedic experts, and frontend developers to deliver seamless user experiences.

What You'll Bring

· 2-5 years of backend development experience.

· Strong expertise in Node.js and Python (FastAPI preferred).

· Hands-on experience with SQL & NoSQL databases.

· Proven track record in building production-grade APIs (REST is a must, GraphQL is a plus).

· Familiarity with event-driven systems and message queues.

· Strong understanding of data security and healthcare compliance.

· Proficiency in Git and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

· Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

· Passion for healthcare technology and improving patient experiences.

Bonus Points

· Experience in telemedicine or health-tech platforms.

· Knowledge of Ayurveda or alternative medicine ecosystems.

· Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and conversational AI.

· Previous work in a startup environment with high ownership.
