About the job

Key responsibilities:

A. API Development
1. Develop clean, scalable, and secure REST APIs using NodeJS or NestJS.
2. Write modular and reusable backend components.
3. Integrate third-party services, authentication workflows, and microservices.
4. Ensure API response consistency, error handling, and version control.

B. Backend Architecture and Logic
1. Design, structure, and maintain backend architecture following industry best practices.
2. Implement business logic, middleware, interceptors, and background jobs.
3. Optimise data flow between backend services, databases, and external APIs.

C. AWS Deployment & DevOps Tasks
1. Deploy NodeJS/NestJS applications on AWS EC2, ECS, Lambda, or Elastic Beanstalk.
2. Configure load balancers, auto-scaling groups, CloudWatch logs, and security groups.
3. Maintain and optimise CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline.
4. Monitor uptime, performance, and server health.

D. Database Management
1. Work with relational or NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
2. Write efficient queries and ensure database performance tuning.
3. Handle migrations, indexing strategies, and schema updates.

E. System Maintenance & Support
1. Troubleshoot backend issues, hotfix bugs, and improve performance.
2. Conduct code reviews and follow best practices for code quality.
3. Maintain API documentation and contribute to internal technical guides.
4. Ensure security best practices, including JWT, OAuth, and data protection.
