To be the profit centre head with responsibility for Over Burden (OB) mining operations transport and dispatch of OB safety management and implementation of best practices in addition to be completely responsible for all governance and compliance aspects and interface with local authorities & Principal (Ultratech Cement Unit- Bela Cement Works)

Job Context & Major Challenges

Context

As part of its diversification strategy Essel Mining and Industries Ltd. (EMIL) has identified contract OB mining as one of its future growth areas. EMIL and Ultratech Cement Ltd. (UTCL) have entered into an arrangement where EMIL will become the contract mining partner of UTCL for OB removal in its Bela Mines to start with.

The project is envisaged to clock a turnover of over Rs. cr when it reaches its peak capacity. The vision of EMIL for the project is to make a showpiece project of highest standards. This will also work as a launching platform for future contract OB mining opportunities with UTCL and other Group & external companies.

Job Challenges

Execution of Mining Operation as per plan of Ultratech as they have issue of possession of land.
2. Different type of material (Top Soil Shale and NDS) has to handle separately.
3. To ensure short term / daily plan for deployment of manpower / HEMMs to achieve targeted production effectively & safely.

KRA1	Mine operation: Executing the OB removal planning Supervising and executing the operations of the mine in rate & cost effective manner. Getting executed OB removal in a safe but cost-effective method with due adherence to discipline in the mines	Taking long term planning from Ultratech and prepares the short-Term plan for mines operation. Proper deployment of Excavators. Regular monitoring of lead & lift of OB removal. Provides technical inputs to staff regularly Innovative in reducing the cost of production Achievement of daily/monthly targets for OB.
KRA2	Cost and Productivity: Plan execute and controlling operation cost within the budgeted parameters.	Utilize the equipment to their optimum capacity to attain the benchmark. Eliminate the wasteful and unsafe operation Monitoring fuel consumption in HEMM and achieve the bench mark set. prepare & maintenance of the haul roads in such a manner that operating cost is minimized. Life Value analysis.
KRA3	Statutory Compliance:Reviews and coordinatesforcomplianceof statutory requirement related to mine operation eg safety standards blasting norms explosives storage environment etc.	Ensure maintenance of statutory obligation related to DGMS and safety standard. Implementing of traffic rule and safety procedures SOPs & WP. Setting up procedure for legal in compliance with SOPs and COPs.
KRA4	People Management: Build & sustain a conducive work culture by effective management of people to improve productivity growth and motivation levels of employees to institutionalize best organizing practices in the unit.	Fixing up of performance objectives. Appraise subordinate about rules and regulation and SOPs/COPs. Maintain discipline for effective utilization of people and HEMM. Manpower deployment in shifts. Identification of training needs. Impart/recommend training. Effective communication. Knowledge sharing with subordinate.
KRA5	System Implementation: Ensure implementation of systems in the department through the involvement of people for improving production performance & safety standard	Organize & execute implementation plan for: - Attainment of production targets. - Zero accident - Safe working conditions and practices. - Statutory compliances. Identify & formulate implementation plan for - new systems and best practices. - Plan housekeeping & get up activities. - Carry out internal audits
