“Postdoctoral Position” on “Stem Cell Engineering and Regenerative Medicine”

Stem Cell Engineering and Regenerative Medicine is an emerging and highly interdisciplinary field of research that requires a multidisciplinary skill set. Regenerative or Tissue Engineering evolved from the field of biomaterials development and refers to the practice of combining biomaterials, cells, and biologically active molecules into functional tissues. The goal of regenerative medicine is to assemble functional constructs that restore, maintain, or improve damaged tissues or whole organs. Our laboratory works at the interface of materials engineering (including FDA-approved polymeric Biomaterials) and stem cell biology to develop next-generation approaches in the generation of tissues such as bone, cartilage, heart, and skin, etc.

We are seeking for talented, motivated and passionate individuals, eager to learn multidisciplinary skill set and ready to explore their talent/idea/experience in the improvement of human health care, and to join our efforts in a leading-edge translation research on “Stem Cell Engineering and Regenerative Medicine ” . The candidate will get a highly interdisciplinary work environment to perform cutting edge research and high-impact publication.

Essential Qualification and Work Experience: PhD in Biotechnology, Nanobiotechnology, Bioengineering, Nanotechnology, Materials Science, any other related interdisciplinary engineering and/or science, from reputed institute with strong experience and publication record from PhD work and related work.

· Experience in biomaterials fabrication and their biological evaluation, in vitro and in vivo

· Experience in cells culture, primary cell (e.g., stem cells) culture, materials-stem cell/cell interaction studies

· Experience in Stem Cells culture and maintenance preferred

· Sound knowledge and interest on cell-materials interaction, stem cell biology, proficient in molecular biological techniques such as quantitative PCR; RTPRC, ELISA, Western Blotting and immunoassay etc.

· In vivo (small animal) experiment planning and execution

· Proficient in designing and executing experiments, interpreting of research results, and writing reports and manuscripts, managing and guiding PhD/JRF/SRF absolutely necessary

Duration of project: Two years. The appointment will be on a temporary basis. Based on the performance, the appointment could be extended till the end of the project.

Emoluments: Based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
