Staff Applications Engr Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Staff Applications Engr to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Authors technical articles and white papers to show case Cypress products and technologies;
- Review customer designs and solve problems;
- Evaluate new applications in market segment to fit PSoC, IoT MCUs and perform competitor product teardowns;
- Work with design, marketing and product definition teams to successfully launch new products into the market;
- Customer support post and pre-sales, including in-situ support;
- Train Cypress Sales & Marketing, and Customers on new products & solutions;
- Provides technical guidance to aid the design and development of embedded consumer electronics devices using Cypress products;
- Work closely with IC design team and firmware team to develop production-worthy designs for IoT and consumer applications;
- Be part of a team that defines and architects the next generation of embedded systems to meet the market needs;

- Define and create hardware and firmware design guidelines for state-of-art capacitive and inductive sensing designs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Computer Science with focus on embedded systems engineering;
- Experienced in delivering system solutions from concept to production including compliance and certification;
- Analog applications experience is desired with the knowledge of precision analog circuits, ADCs, DACs, Op Amps, Comparators, Power management ICs etc;
- Experience with wireless communication protocols such as Bluetooth, BLE or Wi-Fi;
- 3-6 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer in Applications Engineering or Systems Engineering role focused on embedded systems;
- Strong team and communication skills;
- 4-9 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer in Applications Engineering or Systems Engineering role focused on embedded systems.
