SQL Developer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a SQL Developer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Designing, modelling, developing and supporting Database Management Systems (DBMS);
- Database mirroring and replications;
- Write and optimize in-application SQL statements;
- Flexibility to work after office hours for any production issue or production deployment;
- Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail;
- Develop Dynamic search queries and results with manipulated data;
- Perform installation, upgrades, and patching of database software;
- Prepare documentations and specifications for Database;
- Optimize and maintain legacy systems;
- Create indexes and analyse its role for optimizations;
- Analyse queries and optimize with performance, result;
- Adhere to all required PCI/SDLC procedures, Ensuring database systems procedures adhere to regulatory requirements;
- Explore new database products, services, and protocols and make suggestions of their usage;
- Create and support stable, reliable and effective databases;
- Perform duties associated with data stewardship, data security, data integration, and data standards.
Requirements:
- MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus;
- MS SQL Server 2008/2012 Database development and administration experience;
- Strong multi-tasking abilities, ability to work under pressure, and make priority decisions;
- Flexible, team player, “get-it-done” personality;
- Good knowledge of software development and user interface web applications;
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools;
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server;
- Solid functional experience in Linux and windows;
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment;
- 2+ years’ experience of working on a Database Developer position;
- Strong organization, interpersonal, and team-leading skills;
- Required B.E/BSC IT/Engineering;
- Knowledge and experience in managing relational databases;
- Experience with database performance tuning and capacity planning;
- Positive, pro-active attitude with a will to deliver quickly, excellent analytical skills.
