Ethics and Compliance Officer

The Ethics and Compliance Officer develops and implements strategies for all activities relating to standards of conduct, and ethical relationships. Oversees day-to-day operations of the corporation’s comprehensive ethics and compliance function, including compliance with Sarbanes Oxley. Being an Ethics and Compliance Officer provides expert advice and interpretation of the code of ethics and compliance, including the applicability of the organization’s policies and programs to specific situations. Responsible for effectively communicating ethics and compliance standards and procedures to all employees and other agents, through training programs and publications. In addition, Ethics and Compliance Officer participates in updating and maintenance of company-wide confidential reporting systems (“helpline”). May require a bachelor’s degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Ethics and Compliance Officer typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Working as an Ethics and Compliance Officer typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.
