Graphic Designer – Editorial, Poster & Marketing Layout

About the Role

Use your professional design expertise to help shape the next generation of AI systems.

We’re looking for experienced Graphic Designers, Editorial Designers, Visual Designers, Layout Specialists, and Art Directors with strong expertise in typography, composition, visual hierarchy, and marketing design.

You’ll analyze and annotate real-world design assets, translating visual decisions into precise, structured information that can be used to train and evaluate advanced AI systems. No prior AI experience is required — your professional design knowledge is what matters.

This is an excellent opportunity for designers who enjoy analyzing visual work, articulating why a design works, and applying established design principles with a high degree of precision.

What You’ll Do

• Annotate editorial, poster, marketing, and other visual design assets using a defined annotation framework.

• Analyze short video clips and describe composition, framing, movement, and visual flow using professional terminology.

• Deconstruct completed designs into their underlying compositional elements and layers.

• Document hierarchy, geometry, typography, spacing, visual style, and other design characteristics through structured metadata.

• Create high-quality exemplar annotations that establish benchmarks for the broader dataset.

• Identify ambiguous designs, missing categories, and edge cases within the annotation framework.

• Provide detailed feedback that can help improve annotation guidelines and quality standards.

• Collaborate with project and quality teams to maintain consistency as annotation requirements evolve.

• Use design tools to inspect, evaluate, and structure layered design files.

• Apply professional judgment to distinguish intentional design choices from inconsistencies or execution issues.

Design Areas

You may work across a range of visual communication formats, including:

• Editorial layouts

• Posters and promotional graphics

• Marketing collateral

• Brand assets and templates

• Typography systems

• Print and digital layouts

• Social and campaign creative

• Short-form motion and video

• Visual composition and hierarchy

What You Bring

• 3–5+ years of professional experience as a graphic designer, visual designer, brand designer, editorial designer, layout/print specialist, or art director.

• Strong portfolio demonstrating advanced understanding of typography, composition, color, layout, spacing, and visual hierarchy .

• Professional experience creating editorial, poster, marketing, or brand layouts.

• Expert-level proficiency with tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or equivalent design platforms .

• Strong working knowledge of relevant Adobe applications, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and/or After Effects.

• Ability to clearly articulate design decisions using established visual design and composition terminology.

• Strong attention to detail and consistency when analyzing visual assets.

• Excellent written English and the ability to document visual observations accurately and concisely.

• Ability to follow structured guidelines while exercising professional design judgment.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of design experience or an art direction background.

• Experience with editorial, publishing, advertising, marketing, or print design.

• Experience developing brand systems, templates, or scalable design frameworks.

• Motion design, video editing, cinematography, or visual storytelling experience.

• Experience analyzing or evaluating other designers’ work.

• Experience creating design guidelines, quality standards, or visual documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience and portfolio.

Compensation & Engagement

• $20–$50/hour

• Annualized equivalent: $41,600–$104,000 based on 2,080 hours/year
