Role Overview:

The enterprise applications landscape is undergoing rapid transformation as organizations modernize their digital core, adopt AI-native applications, and increasingly leverage cloud platforms to drive business agility and innovation. Enterprise applications are evolving beyond transactional systems into intelligent platforms that enable automation, decision-making, customer engagement, and enterprise-wide transformation.

The Senior Research Analyst will play a pivotal role in shaping Avasant's thought leadership across the enterprise applications ecosystem, covering platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday, and other leading business applications. The role will drive the research agenda, deliver market-leading insights, and provide strategic perspectives that influence CXO-level decision-making. This market-facing role combines research strategy, content development, industry engagement, and market education to establish Avasant as a leading authority in enterprise applications.

Responsibilities:

 

• Represent the firm and articulate a strong point of view on enterprise applications and digital business platforms across external conferences, boardroom presentations, industry events, and public forums.
• Engage with senior executives across enterprises, enterprise application vendors, system integrators, and ecosystem partners to advise on application modernization, AI adoption, cloud transformation, ERP strategy, CRM evolution, and enterprise platform roadmaps.
• Own the end-to-end delivery of one or more research products, including defining the research agenda and executing an annual calendar of market reports, white papers, benchmark studies, and thought leadership content, with significant direct content development.
• Conduct primary and secondary research through executive briefings, analyst interactions, customer interviews, vendor discussions, and market analysis to identify emerging trends, validate hypotheses, and generate differentiated insights.
• Develop and continuously enhance research methodologies, evaluation frameworks, benchmarking models, and market assessment approaches for enterprise applications, platform ecosystems, and service providers.
• Analyze market dynamics across enterprise applications, including cloud ERP, CRM, HCM, ITSM, low-code platforms, business applications, AI copilots, industry clouds, and application services.
• Monitor competitive developments, product innovation, partner ecosystems, pricing models, mergers and acquisitions, and evolving enterprise buying behavior across leading application vendors.
• Synthesize complex market intelligence into compelling executive narratives and actionable perspectives on enterprise applications, AI-driven transformation, SaaS evolution, platform strategies, and business process modernization.
• Support strategic advisory and consulting engagements by providing market intelligence, competitive analysis, and research-driven recommendations aligned to client objectives.
• Collaborate with application vendors, service providers, industry associations, and enterprise leaders to expand Avasant's market presence and thought leadership within the enterprise applications ecosystem.
• Contribute to the development and scaling of new research offerings, with exposure to the complete product lifecycle from market opportunity assessment and research design to publication, market positioning, and client adoption.

Qualifications : 

 

• MBA or equivalent from Tier 1 institutes. 3-5 years of experience in research, strategy or consulting domains 
• Candidates with significant experience with Big 4 or other strategy consulting firms. Previous work with leading tech industry analyst firms will be an advantage 
• Strong aspiration to be known as prominent voice who has a significant impact on how industries apply technology to become future-ready

• Excellent communication and presentation skills – both written and verbal (English) 
• Significant exposure and interest in emerging technologies, with an inherent curiosity to analyse how they will impact the world 
• Strong sense of ownership and adherence to quality and timelines 
• Exceptional quantitative and data interpretation skills 
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment across multiple time zones/ geographies
