Position Overview
The Mother Teacher is a nurturing educator responsible for fostering a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. This role emphasizes holistic development—cognitive, emotional, social, and physical—through structured play, guided interactions, and individualized attention.
Key Responsibilities
1. Curriculum & Lesson Planning
Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with the school curriculum.
Incorporate creative teaching methods such as storytelling, music, and play-based learning to engage students.
Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
2. Classroom Management
Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.
Promote positive behavior and social skills through structured activities and interactions.
Ensure classroom cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols.
3. Student Development & Support
Observe and assess individual children's growth and development.
Provide personalized attention to each student, identifying their learning needs and emotional well-being.
Foster a love for learning and encourage curiosity and independence.
4. Parent Communication
Maintain regular communication with parents and caregivers about their child's progress and development.
Address parents' concerns and provide guidance on how to support their child's learning at home.
Organize parent-teacher meetings and participate in school events as required.
5. Assessment & Documentation
Conduct regular assessments to monitor the academic and personal progress of students.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, behavior, and academic progress.
Provide timely feedback to students and parents on progress and set achievable goals for future development.
6. Professional Development
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to ensure the smooth functioning of the school.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed) or a related field.
Minimum of 1-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in early childhood or primary education.
Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching methods for young children.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children.
Preferred
Certification in Early Childhood Education or relevant teaching certification.
Experience with play-based learning, storytelling, and interactive teaching methods.
