Automation Engineer - Playwright Testing

Note : Interviews for this position, based in Chennai, are in-person (F2F) only. Apply only if you presently live and work in Chennai.We are looking for a highly skilled Automation Engineer - QA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with automation frameworks, modern testing tools, and development of best practices. This role requires a combination of technical proficiency, architectural understanding, and innovative thinking to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.Mandatory Requirements :- Total Experience : 4 - 7 years (preferred)- Playwright Automation : Minimum 2 - 3 years of hands-on experience using Playwright with JavaScript or TypeScript.- Programming Skills (Mandatory) :1. TypeScript : Minimum 1 year of experience, or2. JavaScript : Minimum 3 years of experience.- Manual Testing : Minimum 1 - 2 years of hands-on testing experience.- Jenkins : Understanding of pipeline configuration and execution.- Test Automation Frameworks : Proven experience in designing and developing Playwright frameworks from scratch.- Tools : Experience with Jira and at least one test management tool.- Communication & Client Interaction : Strong stakeholder management, troubleshooting, debugging, and communication skills with the ability to work independently.- Candidates should demonstrate ownership, accountability, and the ability to perform as an independent contributor.Key Responsibilities :- Design and implement end-to-end automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript to accelerate the testing lifecycle and ensure consistent product quality.- Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated test suites into Jenkins CI/CD pipelines, enabling rapid feedback loops and continuous deployment.- Execute comprehensive manual testing for complex features where automation is not yet feasible, ensuring no critical edge cases are overlooked.- Manage defect lifecycles within Jira, providing detailed documentation and root cause analysis to facilitate quick resolution by engineering teams.Overall Profile Expectation :The client is specifically looking for professionals who bring a strong Playwright Automation (Javascript/Type script) experience and can contribute effectively with minimal onboarding.
