Linux System Administrator - Red Hat

Job Title : Linux System AdministratorLocation : Mumbai / Bengaluru / PuneExperience : 7 to 14 YearsJob Summary : We are seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator with strong expertise in Linux environments, virtualization, and system management.The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Linux-based infrastructure while ensuring high availability, performance, and security.Key Responsibilities : - Design, implement, and manage Linux-based infrastructure and virtualization environments (KVM/RHEL).- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).- Perform system upgrades, patching, and regular maintenance activities.- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in Linux environments.- Manage server refresh and migration projects on X86 Red Hat Virtualization platforms.- Work on data migration activities using relevant tools and methodologies.- Configure and manage LVM (Logical Volume Management) and storage systems.- Administer DNS services and ensure network reliability.- Build and maintain clustered Linux environments.- Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and operational efficiency.- Ensure system performance, security, and availability.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical support.- Prepare and maintain professional documentation for systems and processes.Required Skills & Expertise : - Strong experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Unix environments)- Expertise in KVM and Red Hat Virtualization- Hands-on experience with LVM, DNS, and shell scripting- Experience with server migration and data migration tools- Good understanding of IBM AIX systems- Knowledge of VMware concepts and virtualization technologies- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills- Familiarity with cluster setup and managementPreferred Qualifications : - Linux System Administration certifications (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE)- Certification in Linux KVM/Virtualization technologies- Any industry-recognized certifications related to system administrationSoft Skills : - Strong communication skills (verbal and written)- Good customer handling and stakeholder management abilities- Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-critical environmentWhy Join Us? : - Opportunity to work on large-scale enterprise infrastructure- Exposure to advanced virtualization and cloud-ready environments- Collaborative and growth-oriented work culture (ref:hirist.tech)
