Role : Senior Software Engineer Java BackendLocation : Pune, MaharashtraExperience : 6 to 9 YearsEmployment Type : Full-timeAbout the Role : We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer Java Backend to design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable backend systems that power mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, distributed systems, and cloud-native technologies, with experience building secure, production-grade applications in Agile environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect scalable solutions, drive engineering excellence, mentor team members, and contribute to the complete software development lifecycle.Key Responsibilities : - Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.- Build high-performance, resilient, and secure microservices and distributed systems.- Participate in architecture, design discussions, and technical decision-making.- Develop production-ready APIs and backend services with a focus on performance and reliability.- Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA, and DevOps teams throughout the SDLC.- Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments using modern DevOps practices.- Perform code reviews, design reviews, and ensure adherence to engineering best practices.- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.- Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the team.- Participate in Agile SAFe ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.- Ensure applications comply with secure coding standards, PCI security requirements, and organizational security policies.- Continuously improve system performance, scalability, availability, and engineering processes.Required Skills : - 6 to 9 years of software development experience in Java backend technologies.- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.- Solid understanding of SOA, Microservices, and Distributed Systems.- Experience designing scalable, event-driven architectures.- Strong understanding of backend design patterns and software engineering principles.- Experience with RESTful APIs and gRPC services.- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.- Knowledge of AWS and cloud-native application development.- Experience with relational databases (Oracle) and NoSQL databases (Cassandra or similar).- Experience with Kafka, MQ, or other messaging platforms.- Understanding of secure coding practices (OWASP, CWE, SEI CERT).- Experience working in Agile SAFe methodology.- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.Preferred Skills : - Experience with IBM ODM or Business Rule Management Systems.- Experience in payment, fintech, banking, or fraud prevention platforms.- Exposure to high-volume transaction processing systems.- Experience with performance tuning and production support.- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and monitoring tools.Mandatory Skills : - Java- Spring Boot- SOA / Distributed Systems- PCI Security- Agile SAFeNice to Have : - AWS- Kubernetes- Docker- Kafka- gRPC- Oracle- Cassandra- JenkinsWhat We're Looking For : - Strong ownership and accountability.- Ability to lead technical discussions and influence engineering decisions.- Passion for building scalable, secure, and high-performing backend systems.- Excellent collaboration and mentoring skills.- Continuous learning mindset with a focus on engineering excellence.Security & Compliance : The selected candidate will be expected to follow organizational information security policies, protect confidential information, ensure secure coding practices, report any security incidents, and complete all mandatory security and compliance training as required.
