Accion Labs - Power BI Developer - Synapse Analytics

Description :General Job Functions :- Builds and designs user-friendly dashboards and insights-driven analytics reports using Microsoft Power BI Desktop, connecting to various back-end data sources (APIs, Databases, SharePoint, Cloud Services).- Enables efficient data calculations and performance by writing highly optimized DAX queries and advanced Power Query transformations.- Collaborates with others to define KPIs, translates complex data needs into scalable technical solutions, and presents insights/observations through demos, documentation, and visual aids.- Troubleshoots reporting discrepancies, implement monitoring solutions to mitigate production defects, and manage data refresh schedules to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and reliability.- Implements Row-Level Security (RLS), manages workspaces and user access permissions, and establishes data governance best practices to ensure secure, compliant, and well-managed data environments.- Set-up and maintain data gateways for locally hosted data sources.Must have skills and experience:- Demonstrated ability to interpret and deliver new business requirements from user stories and proactively seek clarification from Product Owner when requirements are unclear.- Expert knowledge of data modeling techniques, including star schemas, snowflake schemas, and dimensional modeling, to support scalable and high-performance analytics.- High proficiency in SQL programming and building scalable ETL pipelines using tools such as SQL Server Integration Services and Azure Data Factory, or similar technologies.- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and error-free outputs, ensuring business requirements are implemented accurately and completely during development and unit testing.- Comfortable working in large-scale, complex projects with evolving stakeholder needs, shifting priorities, problem solving, and continuous feature development.- Committed to continuous growth, innovation, and a passion for business intelligence and data analytics excellence.Nice to have skills :- Experience working in an Agile environment and using issue-tracking platforms such as Jira is preferred.- Actively engages in scrum ceremonies through thoughtful participation that drives improved outcomes.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Experience with Azure (ADF, Synapse, Fabric, Data Lake), Redshift, Databricks, and Spark.- Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric ecosystem and Lakehouse architecture concepts to support modern data analytics and reporting solutions.- Utilizes Python or R for to develop machine learning models and enable advanced data modeling, transformation, and insight generation.- Leverages PowerShell and REST APIs to connect to Azure-based AI services, automate workflows, and streamline data operations (ref:hirist.tech)
