The Security Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents to protect the organizations data and infrastructure. This role involves close collaboration with IT teams and other departments to ensure the implementation of effective security measures and the ongoing assessment of potential threats.Experience :- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security analysis.- Experience with security monitoring tools and incident response processes.Role & Responsibilities :Security Monitoring :- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems and other security tools to identify and analyze potential security threats.- Perform real-time analysis of security alerts and incidents, determining their severity and escalating as necessary.Incident Response :- Investigate security incidents and breaches, performing root cause analysis and remediation.- Develop and maintain incident response plans and protocols, ensuring timely and effective resolution of security incidents.Threat Analysis and Vulnerability Management :- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify security weaknesses.- Analyze threat intelligence and security data to identify trends and emerging threats.Security Policies and Compliance :- Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of security policies, procedures, and standards.- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001.Security Awareness and Training :- Conduct security awareness training for employees to promote security best practices and reduce the risk of human error.- Develop and distribute security awareness materials, including newsletters, bulletins, and alerts.Documentation and Reporting :- Maintain detailed records of security incidents, responses, and resolutions.- Prepare reports on security metrics, incident trends, and compliance status for management review.Collaboration :- Work closely with IT, DevOps, and other departments to implement security controls and improvements.- Collaborate with external security vendors and consultants as needed.- Roles and responsibilities are subject to change as per requirements from time to time.Skills :Must Have Skills :- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, and vulnerabilities.- Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and endpoint protection.- Strong understanding of network security, cloud security, and application security principles.- Knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and common security threats.- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.- Experience with SIEM use case development, correlation rules, and alert tuning to reduce false positives.- Strong understanding of Linux system hardening and security best practices.- Experience with Syslog, Auditd, File Integrity Monitoring (FIM), and log collection.- Knowledge of network security (TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, VPNs, Firewalls).- Experience with incident investigation and log analysis.- Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, and threat detection methodologies.- Experience writing Bash/Python scripts for automation.Preferred Skills :- Hands-on experience with Wazuh (custom rules, decoders, active response, integrations).- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) security monitoring and Cloud Audit Logs (or AWS/Azure depending on your environment).- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes security monitoring.- Knowledge of OpenSearch/Elasticsearch administration and querying.- Experience integrating security tools such as EDR, IDS/IPS, Firewalls, IAM, and Vulnerability Scanners.- Familiarity with SOAR concepts and automation workflows.- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks, PCI DSS, or similar.Additional Requirements :- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.- Availability for on-call rotations and the ability to respond to security incidents outside of regular working hours.- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.- Ability to investigate and resolve production incidents independently.- Good documentation and communication skills.Qualification : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.Certifications :- Relevant certifications such as Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification (Needed).
