About the job
Key Responsibilities:
1. Research market trends, consumer preferences, and emerging materials to inform new handbag concepts.2. Develop design concepts, sketch, and detail handbags.
3. Collaborate with production teams to refine prototypes.
4. Conduct user-focused studies, gather insights on usability and carrying comfort, and translate findings into improved design features.
5. Work closely with cross-functional teams to iterate on designs and document specifications.

1. Demonstrated engagement with Maharashtrian craft, textile, or architectural design such as Paithani, Warli, Kolhapuri leather, wada architecture, temple ornament, or comparable, shown through a portfolio, thesis, or prior work.
2. Proficiency in handbag design, including sketching, material selection (especially leather), and detailing hardware and construction.
3. Experience collaborating with manufacturers or artisans, including basic knowledge of leather cutting, stitching, and finishing processes.
4. Strong visual communication skills and familiarity with design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar software).
5. Ability to work on-site in Mumbai, manage multiple projects, and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.
6. Relevant degree or diploma in Industrial Design, Fashion Design, Product Design, or a related discipline is preferred.
