We are looking for an experienced  Oracle PL/SQL Developer & Database Administrator with strong expertise in  Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle DBA, database performance tuning, SQL optimisation, and complex query development .

The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience managing and optimising Oracle database environments while developing efficient PL/SQL solutions. This role requires strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities, particularly in identifying database performance bottlenecks, analysing SQL execution behaviour, and implementing effective optimisation strategies.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimise complex  Oracle PL/SQL solutions.
• Design and write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, packages, and database components.
• Perform Oracle database administration activities including monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration, and maintenance.
• Analyse and optimise SQL queries to improve execution time, resource utilisation, and overall database performance.
• Perform detailed  database performance tuning across enterprise Oracle environments.
• Generate, review, and analyse  AWR (Automatic Workload Repository) reports to identify performance bottlenecks.
• Analyse  ADDM (Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor) reports and implement recommended performance improvements.
• Generate and analyse  SQL Advisory Reports to identify opportunities for SQL optimisation.
• Review execution plans and identify inefficient queries, indexing issues, resource contention, and other database performance problems.
• Monitor database health, availability, capacity, and resource utilisation.
• Troubleshoot database incidents and perform detailed root-cause analysis.
• Optimise SQL statements, indexes, joins, execution plans, and database objects where required.
• Develop and maintain complex  Oracle Packages, Procedures, Functions, Triggers, and Views .
• Support database deployments, releases, upgrades, and production changes.
• Work closely with application developers to identify and resolve database and SQL-related issues.
• Participate in production support and resolve critical database performance and availability issues.
• Maintain database documentation, technical specifications, performance reports, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Identify opportunities for database automation, optimisation, and operational improvements.
• Ensure database development and administration activities follow established security, quality, and operational standards.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 7+ years of professional experience with strong hands-on expertise in Oracle database technologies.
• Strong hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL is mandatory.
• Strong  Oracle DBA experience in enterprise production environments.
• Proven experience in  database performance tuning and optimisation .
• Strong hands-on experience generating and analysing  AWR and ADDM reports .
• Excellent understanding of  SQL query analysis, execution plans, optimisation, and performance tuning .
• Experience generating and analysing  SQL Advisory Reports .
• Strong expertise in developing and maintaining  Oracle Packages .
• Proven ability to write and optimise  complex SQL queries .
• Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, objects, indexing, transactions, and performance concepts.
• Experience troubleshooting production database issues and conducting root-cause analysis.
• Strong understanding of database monitoring, capacity management, availability, and reliability.
• Ability to work effectively with application developers, infrastructure teams, and other technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to independently manage technical issues and deliver solutions within defined timelines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working in Agile or structured enterprise development environments is preferred.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in  Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
