Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented API Developer with experience in the Structural Design and Steel Detailing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, integrating, and maintaining APIs and automation solutions that support structural engineering, steel detailing, and fabrication processes in accordance with AISC and CISC standards.

The role requires strong programming expertise along with domain knowledge in structural steel detailing, engineering workflows, and integration with industry-standard software such as Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, Revit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain APIs, plugins, and automation tools for structural design and steel detailing applications.
• Integrate detailing and Tekla software with internal systems, fabrication software and cloud applications.
• Create automation workflows for:
• Connection design
• BOM extraction
• CNC/KISS file generation
• QA/QC validation
• Shop drawing management
• Material tracking
• Work closely with structural engineers, Tekla detailers and project managers to understand workflow requirements.
• Develop custom scripts and applications using C#, Python, .NET, SQL, or related technologies.
• Ensure compliance with AISC and CISC standards in automation and detailing processes.
• Support interoperability between Tekla, Revit, AutoCAD, and fabrication systems.
• Troubleshoot and optimize existing integrations and automation tools.
• Maintain technical documentation for APIs, workflows, and integrations.
• Participate in software upgrades, testing, deployment, and implementation activities.
• Improve productivity through process automation and digital transformation initiatives.

Technical Skills

Strong programming knowledge in:

• C#

• .NET Framework/.NET Core
• Json
• SQL Database
• JavaScript (preferred)
• AI Skill
• Experience working with:
• Tekla Open API
• Revit API
• AutoCAD API
• Knowledge of cloud-based integrations and web services.
• Understanding of data exchange formats such as XML, JSON, IFC, CIS/2, DSTV, and KISS files.

Domain Knowledge

Good understanding of:

• Structural steel detailing workflows
• Fabrication processes
• Shop drawings
• Erection drawings
• Connection detailing
• CNC data generation
• Familiarity with:
• AISC standards
• CISC standards
• OSHA safety requirements (preferred)

Educational Qualification

Bachelors Degree in:

• Computer Science
• Structural Engineering
• Civil Engineering

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in API development, software integration, or automation with Tekla software.
• Prior experience in structural steel detailing or structural engineering industry preferred.
• Experience working with detailing software environments is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AI/automation tools in construction technology.
• Knowledge of fabrication management systems.
• Experience in cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
