BigStep Technologies - Associate Technical Lead - Java/Python/C#

Job Description:We are looking for an experienced Associate Technical Lead to join our technology team and contribute to the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of scalable software applications. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on technical expertise, the ability to guide a team of developers, and experience in delivering high-quality software solutions within defined timelines.The role involves working closely with product managers, business stakeholders, architects, QA teams, and other engineering teams to understand requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and ensure successful delivery.Key Responsibilities:- Lead and mentor a team of software developers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and support on complex development challenges.- Design and develop scalable, secure, maintainable, and high-performance software applications based on business and technical requirements.- Participate in requirement analysis, solution design, technical discussions, development, testing, deployment, and production support.- Review existing application architecture and recommend improvements to enhance performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, development best practices, design principles, and security guidelines.- Break down complex requirements into technical tasks and provide accurate effort estimates and delivery timelines.- Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Solution Architects, QA Engineers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues, performance bottlenecks, production defects, and technical challenges.- Ensure the team follows established software development methodologies, version control practices, testing standards, and release processes.- Support the implementation of CI/CD practices and contribute to improving development and deployment processes.- Identify technical risks and dependencies and proactively work toward their resolution.- Contribute to architectural and technology decisions and evaluate new tools, frameworks, and technologies where relevant.- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design documents, API specifications, and other relevant project documentation.- Monitor application performance and participate in root-cause analysis for critical production issues.- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across development processes, engineering practices, code quality, and application performance.- Work closely with project leadership to track technical deliverables, manage priorities, and ensure timely completion of assigned initiatives.Required Technical Skills:- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar technologies.- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and software engineering principles.- Hands-on experience with application development, REST APIs, web services, and database-driven applications.- Good knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.- Experience with Git or other version control systems.- Understanding of software architecture, application integration, security, scalability, and performance optimization.- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud is preferred.- Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines, build processes, deployment practices, and application monitoring.- Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes will be an added advantage.- Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.Leadership & Collaboration:- Ability to lead a team while remaining hands-on with technical development.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.- Ability to mentor junior and mid-level developers and support their technical growth.- Strong ownership and accountability for technical deliverables.- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on delivering robust and business-oriented technology solutions.Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelors or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.- Experience working on enterprise-scale applications or complex technology platforms.- Experience participating in technical architecture and solution design discussions.- Prior experience in a Technical Lead, Senior Software Engineer, Module Lead, or similar role will be preferred.
