Senior Data Engineer (Google Cloud Platform)Role Overview :We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer with specialized expertise in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize robust data pipelines, manage scalable databases, and ensure efficient data ingestion and transformation processes.As a senior member of the team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional Agile groups, taking ownership of data architecture components and driving technical excellence across our data infrastructure.Key Details :Experience : 6 to 10 YearsLocation : Pune / Hyderabad (Hybrid/On-site as per company policy)Employment Type : Full-timeKey Responsibilities :- Pipeline & Database Development : Design, implement, and maintain highly scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes within the Google Cloud ecosystem.- Database Management : Write, optimize, and maintain advanced SQL, PL/SQL, and BigQuery scripts/Cloud SQL configurations to handle complex business logic and large-scale datasets.- Automation & Scripting : Leverage Python or Shell scripting to automate repetitive tasks, orchestrate workflows, and manage system operations.- Data Ingestion : Handle data ingestion from various Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) and external sources into cloud data warehouses.- Operational Excellence : Participate actively in Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes to ensure high availability and reliability of data systems.- Agile Collaboration : Work effectively within an Agile/DevOps framework, participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and code reviews, while mentoring junior engineers.Job Requirements :Mandatory Skills (Must Have) :- Cloud Platform : Proven production experience architecture and developing on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).- Data Warehousing & SQL : Deep hands-on experience with BigQuery Scripting or Cloud SQL, alongside Advanced SQL / PL-SQL scripting capabilities (complex joins, analytical functions, performance tuning).- Programming/Scripting : Strong hands-on proficiency in either Python or Shell Scripting for data manipulation and automation.- Relational Databases : Core production experience working with at least one major RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).Preferred Skills (Good to Have) :- GCP Ecosystem : Hands-on familiarity with Google Cloud Storage (GCS), Airflow / Cloud Composer (workflow orchestration), and the Google Cloud SDK.- Certifications : GCP Professional Data Engineer Certification is highly desirable.- Tools : Experience with enterprise ETL tools or scheduling software like Control-M.- Domain Knowledge : Familiarity with the Juniper Ingestion process.- Methodologies : Experience working within Agile / DevOps environments, utilizing CI/CD pipelines, and navigating ITIL frameworks (Incident, Change, and Problem Management).
