Role Overview

We are seeking an Associate Consultant to join our India team based in Gurgaon. This role at Viscadia offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of software development, healthcare analytics, and consulting. You will contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of modern web applications and digital platforms used to support pharmaceutical forecasting and analytics. Through hands-on project work and collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will deepen your technical expertise, develop an understanding of pharmaceutical business needs, and build a strong foundation for a consulting career.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, responsive, and user-friendly web applications for internal and client-facing platforms.
• Build modern frontend applications using technologies such as React, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Translate product requirements, business workflows, and design specifications into clean, maintainable, and reusable user interfaces.
• Develop reusable UI components and establish consistent frontend patterns to improve scalability, usability, and development efficiency.
• Integrate frontend applications with REST APIs and backend services, including handling data retrieval, validation, error states, and loading states.
• Implement application state management, routing, forms, authentication, and other core frontend functionality as required.
• Work closely with product, design, data, and engineering teams to deliver features aligned with business and user requirements.
• Write clean, modular, maintainable, and well-documented code following established engineering standards and best practices.
• Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization across web applications and resolve issues identified during development and testing.
• Develop responsive experiences that work consistently across desktop and supported mobile/tablet environments.
• Implement appropriate unit, integration, and end-to-end testing practices and contribute to improving application quality and reliability.
• Use Git-based source control and participate in code reviews, branching strategies, and collaborative development practices.
• Contribute to CI/CD and application deployment processes, working with cloud and DevOps teams where required.
• Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to decisions around application architecture, component design, and technology choices.
• Stay current with modern web development practices, frameworks, libraries, and AI-enabled development tools, and identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity.

Business Responsibilities

• Support the development and enhancement of forecasting and analytics platforms tailored to the needs of pharmaceutical clients across various therapeutic areas.
• Build an understanding of pharma forecasting concepts, disease areas, treatment landscapes, and market dynamics to contextualize platform features and user workflows.
• Translate business and functional requirements into intuitive, effective web experiences that support users in analyzing data and making decisions.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure product features and deliverables align with client objectives, timelines, and decision-making needs.
• Participate in requirement discussions, solutioning, demos, and feedback sessions to continuously improve platform usability and functionality.
• Contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement by documenting technical approaches, reusable patterns, and best practices.
• Develop the ability to independently own technical workstreams and progressively take responsibility for delivering end-to-end solutions.

Qualification and Skills Required:

Must Have:

• 2+ years of professional experience in web development, frontend development, full-stack development, or software engineering.
• Hands-on experience building production-grade web applications using modern frontend frameworks, preferably React.
• Strong understanding of software development fundamentals, web architecture, and API-driven application development.
• Bachelor’s degree (B.Tech/B.E.) from a recognized engineering institute, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, with a solid understanding of modern language features, asynchronous programming, and object-oriented/functional programming concepts.
• Hands-on experience with React and its ecosystem, including component-based development, hooks, routing, and state management.
• Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, accessibility, and modern UI development practices.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and working with JSON-based data, authentication, error handling, and asynchronous API workflows.
• Experience with Git and collaborative software development practices, including pull requests and code reviews.
• Understanding of frontend application architecture, reusable component design, performance optimization, and maintainable code practices.
• Experience with frontend testing frameworks and tools is preferred.
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms such as AWS, and modern deployment practices is preferred.
• Familiarity with backend technologies, SQL, or full-stack development is a plus.
• Experience with modern developer productivity and AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical and product issues.

Good to Have:

• Understanding of pharmaceutical commercial models, forecasting concepts, treatment journeys, market dynamics, or key therapeutic areas.
• Experience working with healthcare, pharmaceutical, commercial analytics, forecasting, or other data-intensive applications.
• Familiarity with industry-standard pharmaceutical datasets such as IQVIA, Symphony Health, or similar secondary data sources.
