Senior Manager-PV & EV Cost Engineering-PV & EV Cost Engineering-TMPV

Purpose of the Role :

Cost Engineer is responsible to develop part level target costing, prepare detailed should cost estimate and apply it to achieve design to cost and source to cost; generate and syndicate cost reduction ideas through competition teardown, benchmarking, should cost analysis, VAVE, analytical levers etc and achieve aggregate cost reduction targets with engineering and purchase; work with vehicle module teams to achieve cost targets; cross deploy the ideas across TML needs; develop category specific key components or subassemblies knowledge repository covering competition, technology, products, manufacturing processes etc and apply it in developing cost models.

Job Responsibilities :

• Develop target costing and establish detailed should cost estimates for the components (Electronics Components- ECUs, PCB etc)

Generate directional cost / reference cost / detail should cost targets for components based on various inputs available across product development stages Mature the directional/reference cost targets of the components to detail should cost as the design evolves. Independently create error free should cost models Develop tooling cost estimates using should cost / reference cost models for calculating tooling should-cost, and provide inputs for Capex target setting Establish target cost for the components

• Ensure/ deliver design to cost and source to cost targets achievements for the component targets of programs.

Pursue component cost targets with engineering to achieve the design to cost targets for new programs Perform cost driver analysis, design cost analysis on components to achieve design to cost targets. Perform Supplier Quotation analysis with respect to should cost model and develop supplier negotiation fact pack for components Perform Linear price performance models and generate opportunities to improve cost performance Generate, provide valuation and syndicate cost reduction ideas based on should cost driver analysis in cost reduction workshops to achieve component subsystem cost reduction targets. Benchmarking , competition should costing , best of Best cost driver analysis and its application into various projects to drive cost efficiencies Perform data analysis and execute analytics based levers for idea generation (LPP, Weight Tree Cost Tree, Function Cost etc ) Prepare component/subsystem specific supplier negotiation fact pack and support purchase CTL in achievement of should cost with supplier

• Develop component/subsystem knowledge repository covering competition, technology, products, processes etc and apply it in developing cost models

Prepare and syndicate cost models for new technology , supplier proprietary parts Prepare scenarios on impact of choice of future technology on cost structure investment, supplier selection etc Improve accuracy of should cost models Prepare parametric cost models for part types to increase the coverage of parameterization Perform TGR and TGW of design to cost and sourcing to cost targets Being part of business case evaluation and build central repository of cost saving ideas and apply across the portfolio

• Annual cost reduction target for the sub systems / modules

Prepare execute idea generation and syndication plan Achieve E+ ( syndicated) as per the target glide path for various modules in targeted VCs

Desired Candidate Profile :

• Education-BE/Btech (Full time)
• Relevant Experience :3 to 7 years of experience in the domain of technology type company (Auto Ancillary and manufacturing process e.g., electronics commodity).
• Good Knowledge of latest trend in technologies
• In depth knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Experience of cost reduction programs
• Experience in lean manufacturing or six sigma programs will considered a plus.

Skills & Competencies :

• Model should cost tools and databases to develop the most cost-effective design and manufacturing options for key components or subassemblies
• Function-cost-value analysis & cost reduction idea generation levers
• Supply chain & value stream mapping
• Financial Statement analysis of key tool makers
• Commercial cost reduction and negotiation skill
• Category specific software expertise such as CAD, PLM, FormSuite, flowmold, CapitalH, Autoform, SAP etc.
