LtdExperience Required : 5+ YearsLocation : Sector V, Salt Lake, KolkataEmployment Type : Full Time On SiteWorking Days : 5 Days a WeekRole Overview :We are seeking highly skilled Python backend engineers to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems for business-critical and real-time applications. The role involves hands-on development along with strong ownership of backend architecture, API design, and system scalability.Depending on experience, candidates may be considered for either Senior Python Developer or Lead Python Developer roles.The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python backend development, FastAPI, REST APIs, WebSocket-based real-time systems, PostgreSQL, Redis, and event-driven architectures. Experience in fintech, trading systems, SaaS platforms, or high-throughput distributed systems will be highly advantageous.Key Responsibilities :- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and modern frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.- Build and maintain RESTful and WebSocket APIs for real-time and transactional systems.- Define and implement backend architecture, service boundaries, and API contracts.- Develop event-driven workflows for real-time processing, order handling, execution tracking, and system monitoring.- Work on backend modules such as user management, authentication, authorization, reporting, dashboards, and system operations.- Implement secure access controls including RBAC, tenant-based access, API key authentication, and SSO integrations.- Optimize database design, queries, indexing, migrations, and transaction handling using PostgreSQL or similar databases.- Integrate third-party services, broker APIs, market data feeds, and internal microservices.- Implement caching, background jobs, queues, and asynchronous processing using Redis or similar technologies.- Improve system scalability, reliability, observability, and performance.- Participate in production issue debugging, performance tuning, and deployment support.- Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, QA, and product teams to deliver production-ready solutions.- Write clean, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code.- For Lead role: mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and drive technical best practices.Required Skills & Experience :- Strong hands-on experience in Python backend development.- Proficiency in FastAPI and building REST and WebSocket APIs.- Strong understanding of PostgreSQL, database design, and performance optimization.- Experience with Redis for caching, queues, streams, or real-time processing.- Good understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture.- Experience with Git, Docker, and modern CI/CD or deployment workflows.- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.- Experience working in production-grade backend systems.- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Nice to Have Skills :- Experience in fintech, trading systems, OMS/RMS platforms, or market data systems.- Knowledge of order lifecycle, execution tracking, positions, P&L, or risk management.- Experience with Redis Streams, Kafka, Celery, or similar messaging systems.- Exposure to Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), and observability tools.- Experience with broker/exchange APIs such as Zerodha Kite, Binance, MetaTrader, etc.- Experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms with RBAC and SSO.- Familiarity with data analysis tools like Pandas, NumPy, or backtesting frameworks.What We Offer :- Opportunity to work on scalable, real-time, high-performance backend systems.- Ownership of critical backend modules and architecture decisions.- Collaborative and engineering-driven work environment.- Exposure to modern backend technologies and distributed systems.- Growth opportunities into technical leadership roles.About Us :Webskitters Technology Solutions Pvt.
