We are seeking an accomplished Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO) to lead the vision, strategy, technology, product development, academic integration, and business growth of an integrated Academic and EdTech ecosystem .

The CPTO will be responsible for building and scaling technology-driven education products and platforms, including LMS, academic management, learning analytics, and AI-powered education solutions. The role will serve as the strategic bridge between academic requirements, technology, product development, AI, data, and business , ensuring that solutions address real-world challenges faced by students, teachers, schools, and educational institutions.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technology leadership with product thinking, business acumen, and an understanding of education to take products from concept → MVP → pilot → launch → scale .

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

1. Product & Technology Strategy

• Define the short- and long-term product and technology strategy for a scalable EdTech organisation.
• Establish product, technology, and innovation roadmaps aligned with business and academic objectives.
• Identify opportunities across AI, education technology, automation, analytics, digital learning, and emerging technologies.
• Set organisational goals, KPIs, budgets, technology priorities, and execution frameworks.
• Establish scalable technology and product processes to support long-term growth.

2. Product Leadership

• Own the complete product lifecycle across LMS, academic management, learning analytics, assessment platforms, and future AI-powered products.
• Translate academic and institutional challenges into scalable technology solutions.
• Define product requirements, feature priorities, architecture direction, release plans, and product roadmaps.
• Drive product-market fit, user adoption, scalability, reliability, and continuous improvement.
• Lead product pilots within academic environments and convert successful solutions into scalable products for external institutions.
• Establish product development methodologies focused on speed, quality, usability, and measurable outcomes.

3. Technology Leadership

Provide strategic and technical leadership across:

• AI / Generative AI / Machine Learning
• Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI APIs
• SaaS and EdTech platforms
• LMS and ERP integrations
• REST APIs and microservices
• Cloud infrastructure and deployment
• Database architecture and data management
• Data analytics and Business Intelligence
• Web and mobile application development
• System architecture and scalability
• Authentication, security, and data privacy
• CI/CD, Git, testing, and DevOps
• AI-powered content generation and assessment
• Recommendation and personalised learning systems

The CPTO need not be the primary programmer but must possess sufficient technical depth to understand architecture, evaluate technology decisions, challenge technical teams, manage technology partners and vendors, and translate business and academic requirements into effective technology products.

4. AI, Data & Innovation

• Identify and prioritise practical AI use cases across learning, teaching, assessment, content creation, attendance, analytics, and institutional management.
• Lead the development and adoption of AI-enabled products and intelligent education solutions.
• Establish responsible AI practices covering student safety, privacy, accuracy, transparency, and responsible technology usage.
• Evaluate emerging AI and technology trends and determine their practical applications within education.
• Develop strategies for using data and analytics to improve learning outcomes, user engagement, and institutional decision-making.

5. Academic & Product Integration

• Work closely with academic leaders, teachers, content teams, and students to understand real-world educational requirements.
• Guide the development of digital curriculum, lesson plans, assessments, question banks, worksheets, and multilingual learning content.
• Ensure technology products are academically meaningful, user-friendly, and aligned with institutional requirements.
• Use real academic environments as testing and innovation environments for new products and solutions.
• Establish feedback loops between users, academic stakeholders, product teams, and technology teams.

6. Team Leadership & Organisation Building

• Build and lead multidisciplinary teams across:
• Software Engineering

• Define organisational structures, roles, KPIs, processes, and performance standards.
• Mentor senior leaders and develop high-performing product and technology teams.

• Establish effective engineering, product, QA, and technology governance practices.

7. Business & Market Development

• Develop strategies to commercialise and scale EdTech products beyond internal academic implementation.
• Identify opportunities across schools, coaching institutes, education groups, and strategic partnerships.
• Lead product demonstrations, institutional presentations, technology discussions, and strategic customer engagements.
• Develop and evaluate SaaS, licensing, subscription, enterprise, and customised solution models.
• Work with leadership on pricing, revenue strategy, partnerships, market expansion, and commercialisation.
• Connect product and technology investments with measurable business outcomes.

Required Experience

• 8+ years of experience across technology, EdTech, SaaS, AI/ML, product management, software development, or digital transformation.
• Proven experience building, managing, launching, or scaling technology products.
• Strong experience leading technical, product, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong understanding of the complete software and product development lifecycle.
• Hands-on exposure to AI/ML and modern cloud-based technologies.
• Experience in EdTech, K–12 education, LMS, ERP, assessment platforms, learning analytics, or digital education will be highly preferred.
• Proven experience taking products from concept → MVP → pilot → launch → scale is a strong advantage.
• Experience working directly with senior leadership, customers, institutional stakeholders, and technology partners.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Business Technology, or a related discipline .
• An MBA or qualification in Product Management, combined with strong technical leadership experience, will be an added advantage.
