Infosys - Java Backend Developer

Key Responsibilities :- Design and develop scalable backend applications and services using Java.- Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot and related Spring technologies.- Design application components following clean code and software engineering best practices.- Build highly available and scalable backend services for enterprise applications.- Work with relational and NoSQL databases and optimize queries and data access.- Integrate backend services with internal and third-party APIs.- Implement authentication, authorization, and secure API practices.- Analyze and resolve application defects, production issues, and performance bottlenecks.- Write unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure application quality.- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design, and code reviews.- Work closely with frontend developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, architects, and product managers.- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, application deployments, and production releases.- Monitor application performance and implement improvements related to scalability and reliability.- Prepare technical documentation and contribute to engineering standards.- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and deliver features within defined timelines.Required Skills :- Years of backend development experience.- Strong hands-on experience with Java and object-oriented programming.- Strong experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.- Excellent understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.- Experience with Java collections, multithreading, exception handling, and concurrency.- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Redis is an advantage.- Good understanding of design patterns and software architecture principles.- Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.- Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.- Understanding of application security and API security.Good to Have :- Experience with Kafka or other messaging/event-streaming platforms.- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP.- Experience with Redis and caching mechanisms.- Knowledge of distributed systems and high-volume transaction processing.- Experience with observability and application monitoring tools.- Strong understanding of system design and performance optimization.Key Result Areas :- Development of reliable and scalable backend services.- High-quality, maintainable, and secure Java code.- Efficient API and database performance.- Timely resolution of production issues.- Successful delivery of new features and technical enhancements.- Improved scalability, reliability, and performance of backend systems.
