About the job

We are looking for an Instagram Reels Growth Video Editor who understands how Instagram actually grows pages today and can turn ideas into short-form content that earns attention, followers, and distribution.

This is not a traditional video editing role.
If you only edit what you are given, this role is not for you.

You will work directly with the founder to convert raw ideas, talking-head clips, screen recordings, and concepts into high-performing Instagram Reels optimized for reach, retention, and follower growth.

Core Responsibilities
1. Reels editing with retention as the primary KPI
Edit Instagram Reels optimized for the first 1 second, not just aesthetics
Use fast cuts, dynamic captions, pattern interrupts, zooms, overlays, and pacing to improve watch time
Edit natively for Instagram formats (9:16, safe zones, UI-aware framing) + Creating Thumbnails

2. Hook and format development
Rewrite hooks visually and textually when needed
Suggest alternate hooks for the same clip
Identify repeatable formats that can scale across weeks

3. Trend awareness and adaptation
Track current Instagram trends, audio formats, and editing styles
Adapt trends to founder-led and B2B content without blind copying
Identify early trends versus saturated ones

4. Performance iteration
Review reel performance (watch time, retention, saves, shares, follows)
Kill formats that do not work and double down on what does
Suggest re-edits or re-cuts for underperforming videos

5. Collaboration and speed
Work closely with the founder on ideation and iteration
Deliver fast turnarounds, speed matters more than perfection
Operate comfortably in rapid feedback and testing cycles

What Success Looks Like
- Consistent follower growth driven directly from Reels
- Clear improvement in average watch time and retention
- Multiple repeatable formats outperforming baseline content
- A page that feels native to Instagram, not repurposed from YouTube

Compensation Structure
Base + Performance
20,000 - 40,000 monthly base
5,000 for each Reel that drives 500+ followers
Follower growth is measured within a defined attribution window after posting.
This option rewards editors who optimize for actual page growth, not vanity views.

Performance payouts are tied to organic reach and follower growth quality. Artificial inflation, engagement pods, or low-quality tactics will result in disqualification.

- Ability to think in scalable formats, not one-off edits

- Comfortable working in a performance-driven environment

Nice to Have (Not Mandatory)
