Key Responsibilities

As a Paint VFX Artist at Image VFX, you will be the final line of defense in plate preparation and shot refinement. Your responsibilities include:

• Advanced Digital Cleanup: Execute complex cleanup tasks on live-action footage and CG renders. This includes, but is not limited to, the meticulous removal of track markers, wires, rigs, camera equipment, and other unwanted production artifacts.
• Seamless Integration: Achieve perfect visual continuity. You will match the lighting, texture, grain, and color of your painted areas to the surrounding plate, ensuring the work is entirely undetectable.
• Shot Management: Perform comprehensive quality checks to maintain film grain consistency, plate stability, and jitter-free results, even in shots with significant camera movement.
• Compositing Fundamentals: Handle essential plate tasks, including denoising, grading, color correction, and advanced edge blending. You will work to ensure that your background plates are clean and ready for seamless integration by the compositing team.
• Workflow Autonomy: Manage your own tasks with a high degree of independence. You are expected to be proactive in your problem-solving and highly reliable when it comes to meeting strict project deadlines.

Qualifications

We are seeking a seasoned professional who understands the demands of the modern VFX pipeline. To be considered, you should possess:

• Professional Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of professional experience as a Paint Artist within the VFX industry. Candidates with prior experience on major feature film or high-end OTT productions will be prioritized.
• Compositing Knowledge: A strong understanding of compositing principles is essential. You must understand how your paint work interacts with other layers in a shot and how to prepare plates that facilitate downstream compositing.
• Technical Precision: Exceptional attention to detail. You should have an “eagle eye” for subtle inconsistencies in texture or color.
• Organizational Skills: An ability to manage multiple shots and versions effectively within an organized project structure.
