Senior Bluetooth Test Automation Engineer

Key Responsibilities:Test Development & Automation:- Perform comprehensive functional and non-functional automated tests for Silicon Labs' embedded wireless products.- Develop and execute detailed test plans, strategies, and approaches specifically for Bluetooth feature testing.- Design and implement robust pytest-based test frameworks for embedded Bluetooth solutions.- Automate test execution processes and establish continuous monitoring of test results within CI/CD pipelines.- Maintain, manage, and continuously improve automated test scripts, test cases, and testing tools.Technical Analysis & Debugging:- Utilize specialized Bluetooth test tools and protocol analyzers (Ellisys, Teledyne LeCroy) to capture, decode, and analyze Bluetooth traffic patterns.- Conduct thorough analysis and debugging of issues identified during testing cycles.- Perform detailed root cause analysis using comprehensive test logs and diagnostic data.- Leverage generative AI tools, including GitHub Copilot, to enhance coding efficiency and optimize development workflows.Collaboration & Communication:- Work closely with development teams to create detailed test plans and conduct root cause analysis of failures.- Collaborate with application engineers to identify critical use cases requiring automated test coverage.- Document test results comprehensively and present findings clearly to stakeholders.- Participate in cross-functional and international team collaborations.Required Qualifications:Experience Requirements:- 4+ years of hands-on experience in software testing and development with specialization in Bluetooth technology.- Proven proficiency with advanced generative AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and agent-based workflows.- Demonstrated expertise in test automation implementation and framework development.Technical Expertise:- Programming: Strong proficiency in Python programming with focus on test automation.- Bluetooth Technology: In-depth knowledge of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technologies and protocols.- Testing Tools: Expertise in Bluetooth testing tools and protocol analyzers, particularly Ellisys and similar platforms.- Standards Knowledge: Experience with Bluetooth SIG specification documentation and familiarity with current Bluetooth standards (5.x, 6.x).- Framework Experience: Hands-on experience with pytest and automated testing frameworks.Core Competencies:- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities with expertise in systematic root cause analysis.- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration across diverse, international teams.- Documentation: Ability to create clear, comprehensive technical documentation and present complex findings to various stakeholders.- Adaptability: Comfortable working in fast-paced, innovative environments with evolving technologies.Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.- Experience with embedded systems testing and wireless communication protocols.- Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.- Familiarity with additional wireless technologies and IoT ecosystems.- Experience with version control systems and collaborative development environments.
