About the Role

We’re looking for Life Sciences Research Assistants to contribute to a project focused on creating next-generation AI benchmarks. You’ll apply your life sciences expertise to help train and evaluate AI systems through high-quality, real-world scientific input.

No prior AI experience is required. Your domain knowledge is what matters.

You’ll design and author expert-level evaluation tasks using authentic research artifacts and technical challenges that reflect advanced life sciences practice. Assignments will test AI agents using realistic datasets, multi-step problem-solving, and rigorous evaluation rubrics that go beyond textbook science.

What You’ll Do

• Develop complex, authentic research evaluation tasks within the life sciences, including experimental design critique, protocol analysis, and primary data interpretation.

• Source and synthesize research materials such as raw experimental data, laboratory protocols, technical literature, and supplementary documents.

• Define and document the appropriate methodological approach and biological interpretation for each task.

• Create comprehensive, multi-item evaluation rubrics focused on methodological rigor, data interpretation, and source fidelity for LLM-based evaluation.

• Ensure tasks reflect the nuance, ambiguity, and depth of real-world scientific work rather than simplified or hypothetical scenarios.

• Collaborate asynchronously with project coordinators to receive feedback and refine deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, biomedical sciences, biochemistry, or a closely related discipline .

• At least 2 years of hands-on research or laboratory experience involving primary data analysis and scientific protocols.

• Demonstrated expertise in protocol-driven, multi-source scientific workflows.

• Strong scientific reasoning, source synthesis, and methodological evaluation skills.

• Strong written English skills, with experience drafting or reviewing scientific documentation.

• Familiarity with diverse data formats, including CSVs, spreadsheets, PDFs, and technical documents .

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to rubric fidelity, supporting high-quality and objective task design.

Compensation & Engagement

This is a remote contractor opportunity with output-based compensation. Experts are paid per task that meets the project specifications. The time required to complete each task may vary depending on experience and workflow.

Minimum submission requirements apply, including a minimum number of tasks per week.

Start Timeline & Availability

Roles are typically filled within 48 hours . Selected experts should be prepared to begin their first tasks within 24–48 hours after completing onboarding .
